Regarding your toricons entry you just submitted, can you let it wait for a day or so? I want to get the community back on it's feet and stay away from "I hope everything works out soon." comments even if they are positive. And as far as the mod, just respond to the email and see which one emailed you?

I reposted with a disclaimer saying to erase the first part & with the post saying NOTHING else but the actual offer to make icons. If you don't want to let it up fine but the new rule made me happy and I'd like to actually be able to do something nice for people. I'm sure you can undertand how it feels to be shit all over by take_apart and others for what boils down to just trying to be nice.

No, I do not have a button to link here. I have never made one before and do not know how to. If you would make one for me, that would be awesome. Also, I would love your help as a mod for this community, seeing as I have two jobs and go to college full time. This will ensure that all voting takes place on time. Also, since this is my first community, I would love help in learning how to do everything, i.e. setting up the voting, ect.

Again, any help bringing in more members would be much appreciated. I will alter your status to moderator under the community management. In doing so, I would like to discuss with you what your responsibilities would be and what you know about running communities. If you have any type of messenger (AIM or Yahoo preferably), please let me know what your screenname is so that I may add you to my list. My AIM sn is Majormusicfan and my Yahoo sn is derichope. I am usually on Yahoo, but if you use AIM, I will make sure to sign on to it every night.

Hey there.

Okay, so this is what I need help with.
1. Setting up the voting.
2. Making sure all challenges and voting go up on time. Please check the community to make sure that I have done so. If not, I will always send you the pics of the week's celeb before the challenge goes up. Please make sure that the challenge will go up if I did not have time to put it up myself. The same goes for voting.
3. We will probably switch off weeks of making banners (i.e. I'll make them one week and you would the next). However, for mod's choice, we will both decide on one icon. We can debate over which one, that's fine, but I would prefer that we pick one together. This is mainly becuase I might not notice one that is better than the one I like and vice versa. Is that okay? If not, let me know.
4. Finally, you and I will both be resposible for advertising the community. However, you will probably get more affiliations because it seems that you are in a lot of communities and I am not due to constant working and school. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I forgot something. When we switch the weeks challenge to the new celebrity, the comment link needs to change. It should say something to the effect of the celeb of the week. For example, Challenge one is Kelly Clarkson and the comment line says "Behind These Hazel Eyes." I am planning on doing Colin Farell for the next challenge, so the line would need to be changed. You should be able to go a change it if I don't do it. If not, let me know and I will find a way for you to be able to change it in the future. It shouldn't be a problem thought.

Thank you for everything. You have been a blessing this past week. Please let me know how to set up the voting so that I may begin it on Friday.

Does that mean that you will choose the challenges every week? I was under the impression that when it was my week to put up the challenges I would get to choose them, like one week you would put up the challenges and I would put up the winning banners, and then the next week we'd switch places, and so on. No offense or anything but if I'm going to be doing all of the polls (which I have no problem with at all) I'd like to get to pick the challenges sometimes too.

As for mod's choice it's fine if you want to choose them together. My suggestions would be that when it's your week to make banners you choose the mod's choice then when it's my week to make banners I choose the mod's choice. It saves time and makes for less work for both of us. However if you insist we decide them together that's fine, I'm just suggesting a way that would make it easier. That way, say it's whatever time of the day and I'm all ready to close the polls and post the banners and you're not around... we'll be keeping everyone waiting until you and I can sit down and decide the mod's choice award. If we just take turns with that and each get to pick a mod's choice every other week when it's our turn to do banners it seems like it will save time for us and the members as well as saving a little bit of work for us. Again though it's up to you, that's just how I've always done it and seen it done and to me personally it makes more sense, but it's up to you, let me know. To be totally honest, the way I really wish it would go is this:

Week 1: You select and post the challenge (do we do just one challenge per week or more? in some communities we do like, a picture challenge and a quote challenge, in other communities it's just one challenge -- also, how many icons can people enter per challenge? in some of mine it's one and in some it's two or more), and I do the polls, then when the polls are taken down I make the banners including my choice for mod's choice (once we get far enough to bother with that award).

Week 2: I select and post the challenge, do the polls, and then when the polls are taken down you make the banners including your choice for the mod's choice award.

I think it's a good idea especially in the beginning to allow people to either a) have more than one challenge to choose from (like make a post running two different challenges at the same time, which members can enter either or both of) or b) allow members to submit more than one icon (two's a good number) for a challenge. That will especially assure in the early days of the community before we have a large member base that there will be enough entries each week to give out awards and not have to extend or cancel challenges. What do you think? This has always worked for me so I'm really trying to give you suggestions based solely on experience with this type of community, so like I said, don't let me step on your toes and don't think I'm being pushy, we can do things any way you say but I really think some of my suggestions will make the community take off.

I am going to advertise the SHIT out of the community within the hour. I just have to check mail and do some other stuff and then I plan to advertise in every community I run, my journal, and some other places, so the community will definitely be advertised today. Also like I said yesterday I posted in [info]community_promo which is the biggest and best community promotion journal on LJ, so that should really bring in some members.

Okay, um, tell me if I'm getting this all straight.

You read my post in chemwhores, commented all over it with comments that had NOTHING to do with my post, made me feel like an ass for taking a medication I need, took the entire focus off the topic I was actually looking for answers about, acted like you knew everything about everything, spewed a bunch of half-truths or whole lies, occasionally interspersed with random whole truths that really had no bearing on either the post OR your comments, made me feel like shit and feel a need to write a fifty-page multi-comment repetitive essay to you, and now you read my info page... which IIRC mentions my meds... and you want to get inside my apparently wrongly-medicated head?

What can you find in there besides a cloud of medication I shouldn't be taking and a whole lot of me disagreeing with your opinions?

Now, yes, I know this is cuntish, but I'm taken aback by this request given your behavior towards me in the community; I'm surprised you even LOOKED at my userinfo. So, since I'm curious and always willing to give people a shot, you tell me WHY you want me to friend you, what made you come here and more importantly what made you want to STAY here, and then I'll probably friend you.

If you are trolling, I don't care; it just makes you really sad and guarantees you won't be around my journal very long. But I choose to believe you are not trolling, so there's the benefit of the doubt; now explain your sudden desire to know me.
